Jerry Brown

Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown, Jr. is an American politician, and the 39th and current Governor of the state of California. He previously served two terms as the state's 34th Governor, from 1975 to 1983. He is the son of Pat Brown, the 32nd Governor of California (1959–1967). If Brown decides to run for a fourth term in 2014, he will be unable to run for a fifth term in 2018 due to term limits.
Both before and after his first two terms as governor, Brown was elected to a number of state, local and party offices. He has previously served as Attorney General of California (2007–2011), Mayor of Oakland (1999–2007), chairman of the California Democratic Party (1989–1991), California Secretary of State (1971–1975), and a member of the Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees (1969–1971).
