Shivinder Singh Sidhu is an Indian political figure, currently serving as Governor of Goa.
He was earlier an IAS officer of 1952 batch belonging to the Uttar Pradesh cadre. While in the state, he served as the District Magistrate of Kanpur and subsequently as Commissioner of Agra Division. He was the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization from August 1988 to August 1991. He became the Governor of the state of Manipur on August 6, 2004, when he took over from Arvind Dave.
Sidhu was additionally Governor of Meghalaya from October 2007 to July 1, 2008. On July 8, 2008, he was appointed as Governor of Goa, and Gurbachan Jagat was appointed to succeed him as Governor of Manipur. He was sworn in as Governor of Goa on July 21, 2008. » Read more on Wikipedia.org
